LOCATE AND CONTACT AN “FFL” (Federal Firearms License) HOLDER NEAR YOU

“FFL” stands for Federal Firearms License holder. FFL’s can be found in the Yellow Pages under “Guns and Ammo,” “Pawn Shops,” “Sporting Goods,” etc. You can also find a list of FFLs in your area by going to the ATF website at the following link: https://www.atf.gov/firearms/listing-federal-firearms-licensees. Prior to buying a firearm online, contact the FFL you have chosen to ensure that they can conduct the transfer and background check you will need to receive your firearm. The FFL will charge you a transfer fee which varies from company to company.

EXECUTE YOUR FIREARM PURCHASE

You will execute the purchase of your firearm just as you would with any online purchase. When inputting the shipping address for the firearm, you must ensure that it matches the address of the FFL which you have designated. The firearm(s) will be shipped ONLY to the address on record for the FFL you have chosen to use. Once your purchase is completed, request that the FFL holder you have chosen emails us a copy of their current FFL to sales@jagerfirearms.com. We will email a copy of the invoice and parcel tracking number to both you and your chosen FFL holder.

CONDUCT A BACKGROUND CHECK AND TRANSFER

The FFL holder should notify you when your firearm has arrived. You will need to arrange a time to go to their place of business to conduct a background check and fill out form 4473. You should bring a valid government-issued ID such as a driver’s license with you. If you have other forms of ID that would facilitate the background check process, such as a Concealed Carry Permit, take that with you as well. Background checks are relatively quick, usually taking between 10 and 20 minutes. NOTE that you will not be able to leave with your firearm until you have successfully completed the form 4473 and your background check.

TAKE POSSESSION OF YOUR NEW FIREARM

Once the form 4473 and background check have been completed, the buyer may take legal possession of the firearm which they have purchased.
